i did it!

Yippee! I can officially check my 1/2 marathon off of my list of "things to do!"  Yesterday, bright and early, I set out with 22,000 other runners around West End in Dallas and finished my first ever 1/2 marathon in 2 hours and 8 minutes! Yeah!  I was very, very proud of myself.  My goal was 2 1/2 hours so beating that was a good accomplishment for me - I ran the entire time, didn't stop once, and I had a great time running!  Even better, I had Bret, my mother-in-love, Jennifer, Robert and Maddie all there supporting me throughout the race and at the end.  They were such a huge part of my motivation - I am very blessed to have such an amazing family and fantastic friends!  Now, today.  I hurt.  My legs feel like death and my left ankle is swollen, lol.  But you know what? It was worth it! Go me! Now... Bring on the next one.  March 7th, here we come!

i'd love to be able to run a marathon some day!! i've done 5k on a treadmill and that is all my body could handle. also, i have to listen to music and run to a beat, i'm guessing that's a bad thing. haha.
