I want to start my blog by apologizing. I have been a bad little blogging buddy the past week or two. Heck, maybe even longer! I cannot keep track any more... Sheesh. I have gotten so many wonderful new followers who are reading and commenting on my random posts, I have started following some amazingly smart and funny women and I have enjoyed reading each.and.every.blog but, my flaw is this: I haven't been responding to comments or leaving comments of my own. There. I said it. My name is Katie, and I am doing a poor job at being a blogger. Is it weird that I feel guilty enough about that that I felt I should dedicate part of my post to it? The truth is, even though the majority of you I have never met in person, I still consider you guys friend. On days when I don't comment or don't respond it's like not returning a phone call to me or ignoring an email. I know I shouldn't think of it like that but, I do. Guilty as charged. However, I do want you all to know that I am reading, I am commenting when I get a chance and I do appreciate all of you who read and comment on my blog. It's such a great feeling to know that people are reading what I have to say!
Moving on now...
I have done it! I have turned in my last paper of the semester (16 pages, thank you very much) and I am now done with another two grad school classes! Yippee! I know I have an "A" in one and I am just waiting on my final grades for the other! ::sigh:: Talk about a huge sigh of relief. Let it be said that, for me at least, Grad school is WAY easier and a lot more fun then Undergrad. Don't get me wrong, I loved the last year or so of my undergrad experience. I have a BA in English Literature so once I got to the more specific classes that went towards my degree I LOVED classes. The part where I had to take random math's and science's... well, not so much. Hello. Degree in English. Do you think I am any good at math or science? But, once you get to Grad school, ALL of your classes are centered around your specific degree. No bull basic classes, thank goodness. So, since I love all of my classes it is easier to complete assignments, relate to the material and apply what I am learning to my current job. So yeah! Go grad school!
Something I meant to comment on last week and never got around to was the whole Amanda Knox verdict. Does anyone have any opinions on this? I find myself getting attached to different stories I hear about and this was one of them. I obviously have NO idea what happened to Meredith Kercher other than the obvious, but I believe it is safe to say that the police in the case did a horrible job at managing the evidence. Bloody footprints were smeared before examined, contamination of DNA evidence at the crime scene, some things weren't retrieved for several months... Just odd little "mishaps" that should have been handled more professionally. It just seems so odd to me that Amanda and Rafaelle could be convicted of murder when they cannot even find the murder weapon. Blood on a random knife that wasn't determined to have actually killed Kercher?.... It all just seems so strange to me. Now, I will say, if Knox and her ugly as sin ex-man really did kill Kercher then yes, I believe they both deserve to be in prision. However, I wish they would have had a better trial. I know it isn't in accordance with laws but, in a murder case that involves an American and a British student, I believe the crime scence should have been handed over to the U.S. and British governements as well to examine. On top of that, I feel Amanda should have been allowed to be tried in America. Again, I know that goes against all the laws and practices in our systems but still, just my opinions. Lawyers of the world, please don't gang up on me! But, needless to say, I am sad for Amanda and her family - I am sad for Meredith's family because that is just a terrible, terrible story of death they will have to live with, and I truly hope that the Italian government made the right decisions in handling Amanda's and Rafaelle's trial. Alright. Soap box for the day is closed.
Who is tired of hearing about Tiger Woods?! Show of hands?! Dude. You are a man whore. Gatorade is done with you. Your wife is done with you. Apparently you like to take pills, have a few drinks and get behind the wheel of a car. Oh yes, and you are obsessed with your own brand. Nobody cares. and yet here I am bringing it up once again as if it isn't talked about enough right now. sheesh katie.
Well my bb's, T-Minus 4 days until my first ever 1/2 Marathon! AH! Yes, freaking out just a little bit. I got online yesterday to look at some 1/2 Marathon racing tips... Yeah, I am SO not intense enough to be considered a runner. I am sorry but a Fuel belt? Special socks? Some type of gel I should eat 7 miles into my run? People, I am not running the NYC Marathon here... And why do I need a special watch that tells me my heart rate? I don't know a normal heart rate from a bad heart rate. I would take one look at whatever number it gave me and think "that's nice." AND, I need to eat a 500-700 calorie PB&J breakfast with a side of string cheese? What? I think I will wake up, get dressed in my normal running clothes, put on my basic watch, eat some cereal as usual, pop in the IPod and have at it that way. Hardcore runners out there, don't judge me. I have my system and I don't want a fuel belt. Sorry, but no.
I hope you guys are having an excellent Wednesday so far! It's sunny and cold here in Texas and I feel Christmas poking its head around the corner! Coming up soon I will be making all sorts of yummy Christmas cookies to bring to work to make us all little porkers and be heading home for the holidays! Yippee! Enjoy the day everyone - I will try to get around to commenting on all the lovely blogs out there. Just remember, I AM reading them!

I am so jealous that you are done with classes for the semester. I have my first final today, a paper due tomorrow at midnight, 2 tests Friday, and then one each day on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday! I am so ready for it be over. I agree about not liking undergrad classes until all of the basics are gone! Unfortunately, I still have a few basic classes left next semester! I just want all education classes already!!! Sorry for getting on a soapbox! Hope you do well in your 1/2 marathon... I will be cheering for you in Fredericksburg!
there are definitely some comments that DO NOT need responded too...ya know? The ones that are just a quick, simple statement. But, if someone actually writes out a question...I always try to answer. So just know, that I, in NO WAY expect an answer from THIS comment. haha...
I have been bad too! I try to keep up and read all of the blogs I follow but the past few weeks has been really hard b/c of exams!
Hope you are well!
xoxo,
Blair
YAYAYA for being done with the semester!!
I'm torn on the Amanda Knox verdict. My gut and everything I heard makes me think she did it, but there was no hard evidence and she surely would have been acquited in the U.S.
I am so tired of hearing about Tiger Woods. I just don't understand why someone who wants to be like that would get married. If he didn't have a wife and kids, no one would care about all these women.
I laughed at all the randomness.
I'm so tired of Tiger. He's just disgusting. I thought when news of the first one came out, "Typical male sports star." When the number kept climbing, nasty. Just nasty!
I've been a bad blogger friend too. I've definitely been reading all comments and ALL posts from everyone, but have done not much commenting at all! It happens, we still love you! :)
I don't know what to think of Foxy Knoxy. If anything, it makes me very thankful for the wisdom that created the American judicial system which, for all its faults, presumes innocence until proven guilty - and puts the burden of proof on the prosecution, not the defendant.
Good luck with the 1/2ie!! YOU CAN DO IT!!
I am sooooooooooooooooooooooo over the Tiger is a manwhore media circus.
Congrats on finishing your classes, you must feel so great! Now it is time for you to enjoy the holidays! So sick of Tiger Woods...enough already!
Hope you are well sweetie!
