Alright my BBs (blogging buddies - see what I did there?), it is time for my first crack at Wishful Wednesday. One of my newest BBs, Kelsey @ The Seattle Smith's has started the Wishful Wednesday kickoff and now all her readers (me) are following suit. So, here's how it works in Kelsey's own words:
Wishful Wednesday is supposed to be something to get us through those lovely hump days.
It may be a wish, a hope, a dream, or an aspiration -- some topics may be fun and playful and others more insightful -- but most importantly, it will give us an opportunity to get to know our fellow bloggers a little bit better, and see what makes each of us tick...

The plan is for me to post an 'I wish ...' theme every Monday evening for you fabulous ladies to post on Wednesdays. I am a west coast girl and often blog in the evenings right before bed, so this will give you east coast girls time to get those juices flowing and be able to post sometime throughout the glorious hump day that we like to call Wednesday.
SO, what to do .....
1. Copy the lovely Wishful Wednesday button and attach it to the top of your post.
2. If you want to post a link under the comment section of my blog, feel free to,
so others can see your idea and hop on over to your blog!
3. Link it back to my blog if you'd like.
4. Lastly, be creative with your ideas :)
Also, if you think of a fun themes or ideas, please email me and I will give you all the credit!
Theme One:
'I wish' .... I could go back in time and change one decision I made,
and it would be ____!
and it would be ____!
This is a very tricky one for me because I try not to regret decisions I have made in the past. As we all know, everything we have been through has made us who we are today and yada, yada, yada sentimental stuff.
Now, that being said... A girl I work with, Traci, and I were discussing last week sports that we played in middle school. 7th grade athletics were mandatory (ugh) and so I played volleyball and ran track. Side Note: I refused to play basketball. A) I am a midget and B) I don't care for the sport. Sooo, I quickly volunteered to be the manager. Geek Katie. Well, talking to Traci made me remember a very embarrassing incident for my poor, poor parents that happened during my first track meet. For some reason I was chosen to run "long distance" and complete the mile. I am not sure why to be honest with you. I hated running, I never ran and I had never run a mile in my lifetime! At the track me I was running with a few other teammates and two of us were in last place. THEN, the girl, on my same team mind you, started pushing me! Yes, that's right, pushing me. We were rounding the last corner and getting ready to cross the finish line. All my middle school "buddies" were in the stands and started laughing at me for getting pushed, for being in last place and then started mock cheering me on. Not very friendly. But, it's middle school, what child IS friendly? So, me, thinking I was super cool and bad and just amazing, I yelled "SHUT THE HELL UP!" really, REALLY loud to my friends and the entire crowd, including my family and coach heard what I had to say. doh. I don't remember the punishment that came from my parents, I don't remember the lecture I got from my coach but I do know that I was extremely embarrassed and that I embarrassed the heck out of my parents to no end I can imagine.
So, yes... I would like to go back and NOT run the mile and NOT cuss at the audience :) Might as well save some people, and myself, a lot of embarrassment. The end.
Super fun, yes? For all my BBs, I would love for you to pick up on this new Wishful Wednesday fun time that Kelsey has started and start your very own story time!
Moving on...
I have completed my first assignments for grad school - WOO HOO and they aren't due until next week. I like both the classes I am taking online because both profs have posted everything that has to be done for the year on their sites. So hopefully I can do everything as quickly as possible and now have to worry about getting behind or being super stressed to get things turned in. Although, I usually don't get stressed about things like that... we shall see!
After work yesterday I went running for a few miles - Running is something I started in late December of 2008 and I have been doing pretty well with it. Well, to me it's going good. I have never ran (literally since that fateful track meet) so starting to run has been a task. But yesterday my left knee started hurting pretty badly. When I first started running this was common but this hasn't happened in 4 - 5 months. Any ideas? I am talking it hurt to walk around last night because it was hurting so badly. Has this happened to anyone else? I know runners knee is common when you are starting but I thought I had gotten past that. It feels fine today but I will be interested to see how it does tonight... Should I run again tonight or just go hit up the elliptical? decisions, decisions.
Miz Jillian Michaels sent out a new recipe today that I think sounds pretty yummy - It is suppose to be a good protein fix, easy to make and is recommended for picnics, hikes, etc. I have skipped out on a few recipes lately because A) EW and B) Way too complicated.

Do you have a knee brace or something to help you when you run? Maybe that could prevent your pain.
Really cute Wishful Wednesday!! :)
That is too funny ... You had a little mouth growing up, jk! So glad you posted this!!!
I totally agree with you about not usually regretting things--thats my theory, too ;)
Although, just like you, there are things I have "said" I wish I could take back. Like I told my students today..."once the words are in the air...can you put them back in your mouth?" NOPE. So, I tell them to THINK before they speak. Does it work? not usually. lol.
Oh my gosh Katie, that's hilarious. I know we've all said some things we wish we could go back and "un-Say!"
I always got grounded from my mother for being sarcastic, if it makes you feel any better ;)
Hahaha great post!!
