Now on to happier things :)
- I am very thankful for the gorgeous sunrise I got to see this morning since I had to come to work 30 minutes early - Bright orange sun, pink clouds, baby blue sky. It was very lovely!
- I am thankful that my classes for this semester are smoothly underway and I am blessed with some very pro-active group members for our team assignments. Very helpful!
- I am thankful for the new thickening spray I am using on my hair - I believe it is working! Thanks Pureology!
- I am thankful for having a family that loves me all the time.
- I am thankful for Cheerios and Elliptical machines.
- I am thankful for love.
- I am thankful that Saturday is GAME DAY!!
Texas A&M plays New Mexico this weekend - Sadly, we will probably lose because the Aggies haven't been doing too hot the past few years. We have had a lot of "building" years, so I am told butI think we are just bad. Which is sad but whatever, I still enjoy the games and the atmosphere and all the people that come into town to celebrate football season!!
I am bringing out my Aggie Pride and making homemade sugar cookies tonight! I plan to make them maroon and take them to tailgate with us on Saturday. I am pretty excited/nervous since A) I have never made homemade cookies (anything) so it should be interesting, B) I am not generally known for my cooking skills but C) Super excited because they are going to be yummy and I am making some snickerdoodles too which are my FAVORITE! Yeah!!
Tomorrow is Friday my peeps and the weekend begins! Not too much longer and then there is freedom from the work days and Diane and Craig will be in town and Kara and her man Kody and YEAH!! That was a lot of shoutouts to my friends - Happy, Happy me!
Alright, well Gig 'Em Ags!!

I LOVE college football!!!!
You have a lot to be thankful for! :) It's always such a boost to read these!
Yes, Saturday is a BIG day! :) Super excited!
I just read a book called "Female Chauvinist Pigs," and there was something like a whole chapter blaming school sex-ed for failing teenage girls in the area of developing as teenagers (really, blaming Bush via sex-ed, which was an interesting connection to attempt) but never once was the family aspect addressed. I'm not recommending the book, your comments just brought it to mind. Parents rely so much on schools to do more than just educate their kids nowadays - it's like they want to teachers to completely raise the kids so parents just get the fun vacation times. At least, that's how my teacher relatives feel. But anyway.....
Diane and Craig? Do I know this Diane and Craig?
I'm with you on the sex-ed. It's not ALL up to the school. The school should just be an added blessing to these kids! Every child should be talked to by their PARENTS. We don't have children to let others raise them, so why are they pointing the finger at the teacher! Amen, great thoughts!! :)
Yes!!! We went to high school together. Diane and I were on dance team together. And Stevy (who I think comments on your blog too) also went to school with us. What a small world! Do you know them from college?
I agree with you about your first paragraph rant....IT ISNT fair that schools have to teach EVERYTHING. Hello PARENTS!?!?
sheesh.
on a happier note...you've got some lovely things to be thankful for!
hmm..that's tough. my degree is in early childhood educ. and while i think it is mostly the parents responsibility to teach children to make better choices you also have to remember that children spend more time with their teachers on an average day than with their parents, generally speaking. now the thing is there is so much limitations on teachers that most are afraid to open their mouth about these topics. it boils down to parents really; if you don't want to do your job then shut your mouth when your child's teacher does and you don't agree with it.
