This year for our anniversary, Bret and I were pretty low key. That's how we roll. As I mentioned in a previous post, we decided to go shopping and buy clothes as our anniversary gift to one another. The traditional 2nd anniversary gift is 'cotton' so it totally worked! And again, this was allll Bret's idea ladies - What a smart man I married!
First on the list was of course, the Gap.
I cannot live without this store!!
For some strength, we went for Pretzel bites and COOKIES!
Last year, for our 1st wedding anniversary, since we didn't save the top layer of our (nasty) cake from Mexico, we bought ourselves a yummy cookie cake!
So ya know, cookies just seemed fitting for our 2nd anniversary...
Or for life in general, whatever.
After four hours of shopping till dropping then crawling to the car... We made it home with a bunch of new goodies:
The rest of our Saturday was pretty mellow.
We did watch Sherlock Holmes on demand
my thoughts?
meh. It was ok. Honestly, I got a little bored.
Oh well!
Sunday was spent doing laundry and working on school work.
Not going to lie, Grad School will be consuming all parts of my life and mind for the next three weeks.
That's all that is left of this semester. Three. Weeks.
Two 20 page papers need to get written
Two massive group projects need to be organized
1 other group project needs to at least get started.
deep breath.
deep breath.
My week has been going by pretty quickly to tell you the truth.
Monday, work and school work
running with Andrea
Tuesday, recruited at a job fair
shopping with Jenny
Wednesday, oh yes, Happy 2 Year Anniversary!
For our actual anniversary again, low key.
The morning started with us hiding cards for each other.
Just way too easy to hand them over in a normal way!
We of course had to work, blah.
But I got a lot of school stuff done - Yippee!!
Last night we got home, and displayed our cards from each other and my loving family:
Next, we put the wine we had made on our first anniversary in the freezer to chill:
Then, I went and tracked down my wedding shoes so I could strut around the house in them:
First time to wear them since Mexico!
Woo woo!!
Then we decided to take a picture being goofy:
(to clarify: ME being goofy).
I try... it's just not working for me.
katie. you. are. not. gangsta.
After a couple glasses of wine, Bret and I headed off to Olive Garden for a scrumptious dinner!
Came home, watched Idol, went to sleep!
Happy 2 years to us!
SPEAKING OF IDOL...
I don't care what people say, I adore this kid:
best singer in the world? Nope.
little heartbreaker? Yup.
I also vote for this boy toy as well though:
Yes, I did just admit to everyone that I indeed vote.
I mean heck, you can text now.
Works for me!
Happy Thursday you guys!

Happy Anniversary! It sounds like you all had a wonderful time, I am all about the low key time too! I am a huge Lee fan...I could listen to him all day!
Hey blogger BFF! I'm so sorry I've been MIA for about a week! Happy Anniversary! I think you and I are more alike than we know-- Buck's and my anniversary is May 10. You and I were probably planning weddings at the same time! Oh, if we'd only known each other then!
It sounds like you both had such a wonderful, low maintenance day. Buck and I still have some time to think about what we're going to do...This might spark some ideas (except that I shop for a living) and so we might have to tweak yours into something for us! I'll let you know!
But Happy Anniversary again, and congratulations for making it into your third year! :)
Those heels and shorts are SEXY!!!!!!!!!
