as if I didn't already know.

You guys are without a doubt completely amazing.  Thank you all so, so very much for the comments you guys left for Paige yesterday.  I tried to respond to each one of you so you would know how much I really appreciated the advice you gave her.  In the end, I hope Paige starts a blog because she really wants to and for her own reasons but you guys showed her exactly what I was hoping you would.  That when you have a following of bloggers, and your life is out in the world for others to read, you build friendships (friendships, yes, that outsiders will judge) and meaningful connections with people from all over and because of that, whenever you need advice, a good laugh, some place to vent, these friends, like all of you, will be there.  Kind of comforting.  So thank you my wonderful BBs for all the comments and confirming what I already knew, that I could count on you guys to help me, and a friend, out when I needed you to.

this is how my heart feels.
glowing.
sparkly.
happy.
xx

Reflecting back on this past week, one huge, HUGE thing that I have learned about myself is that I have the ability to move past biases.  I am sad to say but due to things that have happened in my past, I have not always been open to all forms of culture.  I know that is horrible but you know, sometimes things happen and it leaves a sour taste in your mouth.  This week however, in one of my HRD courses, I am in a group with two women who come from very different cultures than me.  In class we had to do several group projects and it gave me a chance to talk to them and learn about what their life is and was like when they lived in their home country.  The more we talked the more fascinated I became and the more I wanted to know.  I left the class feeling very good with myself.  For the first time, I had a conversation with people of this particular culture and I was good and I was excited and I felt that finally, I am able to move past my horrible biases that have been bothering me for a long time.  I am looking forward to working with them more, learning from them and soaking in every bit of information I can get about them and their culture so I am able to relate to others in such a positive way.

yes... I am a little behind.  Whatever.

'I wish' .... I could play a character's role in a book and it would be __________!

It has taken me a while to do this weeks Wishful Wednesday because I am honestly having a horrible time coming up with something!  I read all the time. I love and adore books so stinkin' much but to actually be a character in one? Geez... I don't know.

So, I have decided to kick it old school - I would like to be in one of these two books:

I grew up reading The Baby-Sitters Club and American Girl books and Molly was always my favorite (although I had the Samantha doll because she was the prettiest.  Apparently I have been judging looks for a while, sad story).  But the people in both of these always had amazing adventures!  I remember reading these books and just getting lost in the story.  I think it would be fun to have that child-like imagination again and fall into the pages of these girls.

Monday I am getting a hair cut! Yippee! I don't really want to cut it that much because I have been enjoying it growing out some but these are the pictures I will be taking with me:

I want my hair to do what Nicole's hair is doing in her picture.  Maybe a little longer but probably not too, too much.  If my hairstylist can make that happen, I'll be good.
Whatcha think?

Bret and I have made an offer on a house.
The sellers have come back with a counter offer.
We just sent back our opinions on their counter offer.
And now, we are waiting for them.

Oh my gosh...you did not just take us back to the Babysitter's Club! I haven't thought about that in a hundred years! Or maybe just 16...

And that is great that your HRD class got you to thinking and made you feel so much better.

Have a great weekend!

I loved the Babysitter's and American Girl books. I always wanted the dolls but my mom would never get one...instead I had to drool over the magazines. :(

Can't wait to see your haircut.

I LOVE the BSC! I also always loved the Baby-Sitter Little Sister books about Kristy's little sister Karen. They were a great step toward the BSC books as I grew up. Ah, memories. :)
Good luck on your counter offer, keep us posted!!!!!

I love both of those looks! The great thing about that cut is you can wear it so many ways.

I always get happy when I get my hair done, but I never really do too much that is different - so I never post any picture. You'll post some, though. Right? :)

Happy Friday!!
