Wishful Wednesday

'I wish' .... I had the startup funds to build that company I have always dreamt about, and it would be a Green Publishing Company!

It really should not come as a surprise to anyone who knows me or reads my blog that I love books.  Everything about books, not just the places they take me to with their words.  I love the bindings, the covers, the textures, the smells... Everything.  This being said, I know the damages that our planet faces to create the many books that I love.  Because of this, if I had the funds and the resources, I would like to open an earth-friendly publishing company to help protect our planet while still enjoying something that I love very much; books!

This could be made possible with a few changes:

1.  Choosing the materials for the books very carefully.
Recycled paper
Biodegradable glue and products
Nonhazardous materials

2. Contribute to tree-harvesting to make up for the damages printing does to the trees
There are several groups out there that printers/publishers can join to help replant the millions of trees that are destroyed for books, magazines, newspapers, etc.

3.  Conserve energy.
Paper mills regire a LOT of energy to run.  By finding alternate fuel resources, the consumption of energy can go down allowing the mills to save on natural resources and keep space available in landfill's.

Very creative! How much does it take to start a publishing company, anyway? I bet you'd find a lot of investors for a project like that.
