In the news today...

Here are a few headlines that have caught my eye today from all the sites that I read in the morning (MSNBC, Perez Hilton, Fark, The Daily Beast). Some are serious, some are silly, just thought I would share!

  • Eunice Kennedy Shriver died this morning at 2:00am - Sad day. For those of you who are not too terribly familiar with Eunice, she was JFK's sister, she founded the Special Olympics and “She was a living prayer, a living advocate, a living center of power. She set out to change the world and to change us, and she did that and more... She will be remembered as a champion for people with intellectual disabilities, and as an extraordinary woman who, as much as anyone, taught our nation — and our world — that no physical or mental barrier can restrain the power of the human spirit."

  • Too funny - Hillary Clinton snaps back at a college student in the Congo for a question that was asked. Granted it appears the translator got it wrong but still hilarious. The college kid asked "What does President Clinton think about yada, yada, yada" and Secretary of State said "You want me to tell you what my husband thinks? My husband is not the Secretary of State, I am." Get it girl! Afterwards the student said he meant it to say President Obama but oh well. Made for an interesting video!

  • The Glue Plot - By now I am sure you all have heard about the 3 women and the Krazy Glue story... Just so you have some background, Police say Davis, 37, was lured to a hotel room in Stockbridge, Wis., late last month, where he was met by his lover of three months, Therese Ziemann. After tying Davis up with the promise of a sensual massage, she then called for her sister, Davis’ other lover, and his estranged wife. The four allegedly taunted Davis and then inflicted the ultimate insult, using Krazy Glue to affix his manhood to his body. Well, this morning one of the glue ladies claims “Nothing was done against his will. We’re the victims.” Haha, opinions anyone? While yes, being cheated on is never fun especially when you find out not only is there one other woman but two but still... Krazy Glue? Really? Hilarious...

  • Paula Abdul might become a judge on Dancing With The Stars - ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! I was super stoked that she left American Idol. If she joins that show so help me I will NOT be watching it at.all. I just started watching Dancing With The Stars this past season to see what all the fuss was about and I will easily give it up this season if need be. ::sigh::

  • Brooks & Dunn are calling it quits - This is kind of a shock to me. They have been together for 20 years. While I am a country music fan I have never really gotten into their songs but I am still sad for their fans. Sorry yall!

  • Totally disgusting - "A 500-pound inmate in Texas has been slapped with an additional charge after authorities learned he hid a 9mm pistol in the rolls of his skin." Ew!!

  • Oh man, reaching out to an entire new generation - "The Pee-Wee Herman Show, starring Paul Reubens as Pee-wee, will go on stage this November at The Music Box theater in Los Angeles. The on-stage version of the Saturday morning classic will include all our fave characters, like Miss Yvonne, Mailman Mike, Cowboy Curtis, Jambi the Genie, Chairry, Pterri the pterodactyl, Conky, Randy, and all the other magic playhouse fixtures." I really hope his giant underpants don't make an appearance. I can handle the bike but that's about it.

  • Have you guys seen Harvard's clothing line for men, Harvard Yard? "It is made up of preppy American classics – think tailored chinos, Liberty prints, short-sleeved check shirts, striped blazers, waistcoats, knitwear, coats and loafers. The pieces will not, however, be emblazoned with the university logo. Instead the institution's colour, crimson, will feature as subtle trim on button holes and zips. Prices are out of reach of most students, starting at $165 (£99) for a pair of trousers, and going up to $495 for a coat." Amusing... a new spin on uniforms, yes?

On another note, I finished the book, Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas, last night and cried like a little girl. It was sad but it has a good ending. Again, I suggest you read this lovely book.

And then lastly, if you are wondering what I would like for my birthday this year, (Big 24 on the 21st! AH!) I will take this adorable little gift! Thanks and gig 'em!
