Today is the official first day of school for me, WOO HOO!... But, not only that, this coming weekend is the first A&M football game, WHOOP! Home game = tailgating = fun time with friends! Football in Texas my friends, football in Texas.
So... Happy Monday everyone! It was in the 60's this morning ::shock:: 60's in August - this is just unheard of. No worries though, it will be up in the 90's today so we will be back on track with the heat very soon :)
Mine and B's weekend was very low key and absolutely PERFECT - quick recap for those who are interested:
Friday - I was on campus all day for a recruiting event, worked out after work, watched football and relaxed the rest of the night. We had breakfast for
Saturday - Got up early and worked out in the gym, B and I drove to Hillsboro to meet up with his family for my birthday celebration equipped with chicken fried chicken (I adore healthy cooking) cookie cake (yummm) shopping (new shoes!) and ice cream from Braums (B's favorite.place.ever) It was all VERY perfect. Side Story: I recently got my MILs recipe for sugar cookies and wanted to make them and discovered that I do not own A) a rolling pin B) cookie cutters C) vanilla D) baking powder E) shortening... So, while we were in Hillsboro my MIL bought me my very first cookie cutters and I got a rolling pin! Now I just need to rest of the stuff, HA! I am super in love with my cookie cutters I picked out though! A four leaf clover, a little chick-a-dee, an airplane and a star. LOVE. Back on track - That night I laid on the couch still stuffed from lunch and goodies, watched tv and then crashed.
Sunday - I was up bright and early again, got some school stuff together, organized drawers, did all the laundry, made my mommy's homemade vegetable soup (that's right - I COOKED!), worked out and did a lot of nothing :) With football season starting it is about to get super busy with lots of house guests so I was glad to "charge my batteries" this weekend.
Has anybody heard the song "Smile" by Uncle Kracker (yes, I said Uncle Kracker)? I think this song is too, too cute! It makes ME smile when I hear it's happy little lyrics. If you have not, check it out. I don't know how he spells Kracker/Cracker but I prefer it with a "K" so that's what you get.

what are you in grad school for? I am currently done 15 of my 30 credits of grad school.
and also--you don't know how many times I've gone looking for something in the kitchen that I DO NOT OWN! not everything on my registry was purchased..so I'm always having to pick up odds and ends! crazyness.
