This is a story about my good friend Simon. A few summers ago, 2005, I went to Pennsylvania to teach dance at a summer camp. I was one of the few American counselors because most people came from across the pond and beyond. I became good friends with several different amazing and wonderful people including my Brit, Simon! About 2 years after camp Simon came to visit me in good ole Texas and he fell in love! (with the state, not me - just to clarify). I took him to do several "Texas" type things. We had Tex-Mex one night. He ordered fajitas and did not understand why he had to put his food together himself. I took him to Texas Roadhouse so he could have a steak. He again was very confused as to why there were peanuts all over the floor. Or as he calls them, Monkey Nuts. He got to taste Lone Star beer which quickly became his favorite. He went to Country Tavern which has the best ribs in the state and we also took him to a bar called Leon's. Complete hole in the wall dance saloon that he thought was the best thing ever! Said it reminded him of
Roadhouse (the movie). Before even getting to Texas he decided his favorite TV Show is
Dallas and his goal in life is to find an oil barons daughter to marry. Simon really should have been born in Texas... He has come to visit a few times and it is always great to have him around. I enjoy seeing him experience Texas and watching him fall in love with her beauty and culture. So, the point of my entry is this. I got to work this morning and had the following email from Simon:
Hey
Really excited. Ive found a bar in London called the Texas embassy, serves lonestar beer! And it is the spit of texas road house.

How stinkin' cute is he?! Simon found the one place in London where he can be in Texas too! The restaurant is pretty cool. For those who have been to London have you been there or seen this place? If you decide to look over their website read their "About Us" section. For the Texans out there, it might be a little extra piece of our history that you didn't know.
Me and my Brit during his first trip to Texas:

Si, Bret and myself heading to eat some yummy Texas ribs at Country Tavern!

On one final note, I need some more blogging buddies! I love the ones I have OF COURSE, but I want more! Greedy me, I know. So, if you guys have any suggestions or if you think some of your friends would like me let us all know! If not I will stay in my little bubble :) I don't mind it here!
Happy Thursday everybody! Tomorrow is Friday! We have almost made it!

Gotta love Texas!
Hah crazy!
Nice! Texas pride is everywhere. I grew up there and have lots of good Texan friends who are quite proud of the state. I'm de-lurking since I somehow stumbled on your blog a few weeks ago (from someone else's blog I think) and have enjoyed reading it. I'd love some new blog friends too, so I just thought I'd say hi.
I'm going to London. Right now. Must be in Texas (bar) again. :)
