A whole lot of N-O-T-H-I-N-G!

Well, I have not written in a while because there really is not much going on in College Station. It's all the same ole, same ole for the most part.

Last weekend Bret and I did not do too much. Friday after work we went to Roadhouse with some friends then went home and watched Indiana Jones, the new one that is. If you haven't seen that movie it is a little sci-fi. While I have noticed that all the Indiana Jones movies are obviously not 100% real life, this one was a much further stretch. But, who doesn't like Harrison Ford no matter what he is in and I think that Shia kid is adorable so, I was good to go.

Saturday came down to sitting around all day. I went and ran at the gym (go me!) and then that night Bret and I went to Wings-n-More to watch Texas A&M men's basketball team lose to Texas. TAMU has not been doing too hot with their bball this year. We did beat Tech last night though so that is always a plus. Anytime Tech loses, to anybody for that matter, is OK by me. I never thought I would really just not like one school because for the most part I do not really care but, I have decided that Tech, as a whole, is just not a very friendly place and I am not a fan of that type of attitude. But, whatever. Life goes on!

Sunday I met up with some girls from work to talk about baby shower plans for Mrs. Jennifer Cabezas and baby Maddie! It went well and I hope Jennifer will be happy with the end product :)

So far this week I have been working - go figure! And in case you want to know, Bret has been working too! But, I am pretty sure you could figure that one out for yourself without me actually telling you. Work is going well - I got to open 6 new positions on Monday so that means I am getting to start Recruiting again which is fun. Next week I will start bringing people in for interviews and get to start feeling like I have a real job again. Yeah! Other than that I have been updating my HR binder making sure everything I do on a daily basis is explained in great detail in case for some reason I am not around and something needs to get done. For the most part, I am the only one that knows how to do a LOT of the things that I do so it would not be good if I was not around and there were no instructions for people. I am also in the process of learning a new recruiting system, Taleo. So that is keeping me on my toes!

I have been running a lot lately at the gym which I am becoming addicted to. I am up to running 2 to 2.5 miles each time. Which, if you know anything about me, that is a LOT. Before I started running I could barely run half a mile without wanting to kill over and die. But now, I am starting to build my stamina up and I am really enjoying running! Plus the whole losing weight part doesn't hurt either :)

American Idol has started again which makes me super happy - I do not know how many people get into American Idol but I honestly think it is HILARIOUS. I adore Simon, I can do without Paula and Randy because they bother me but I am really into this new judge - she seems pretty cool. But needless to say, American Idol has been taking up my Tuesday, Wednesday and sometimes Thursday nights (along with Grey's). So that is always fun! Bret and I hardly watch TV shows on a regular basis, other than Wheel of Fortune which we rock at and Grey's Anatomy, so whenever American Idol rolls around each year it, sadly enough, gives us something else to add into our nightly routine. So far I am enjoying it and the candidates finally get to Hollywood next week so I am excited about that - This is when they start kicking people who think they are good off the show. Very sad but at times, very amusing!

Bret and I along with several of our friends (Diane and Craig Summers, Lauren and Anthony Allison, John Brown, Morgan and our sister Mallory and her main squeeze Rusty) are all leaving for Pagosa Springs, Colorado next Friday and will be gone for a whole week. YEAH! I am getting very, VERY excited. I wish it were next Friday already! I am a little nervous because I know I am going to freeze my fingers off but, I think it will be worth it. This will be my first time to go skiing as well as my first time to see REAL snow as apposed to Texas "snow" so I think it is going to be completely amazing. Definitely something we have been planning for several months now so it is great that the time to leave is almost here!

So, other than the everyday things that have been going on - there are not too many large things happening. Super Bowl is this Sunday, go Cardinals - I plan to go shopping sometime this weekend for more ski gear and other than that, Bret and I are just making it through the days happily married :)
