Basketball, Train and a whole lot of FuN!!

This weekend was a lot of fun - Very active, especially compared to our past few weekends, but we really enjoyed ourselves. There were several pretty fun things that made it great...

First great thing, my parents came in! It's always nice having my family around - I always love having people at our apartment and especially my parents. My mom always appreciates my decorating, more so than boys normally, so it's nice to be able to share that with her! Friday night the four of us went to Olive Garden which was fabulous. You cannot ever really go wrong with Olive Garden. Although, there was a LARGE plant hanging over our booth that was a little odd - Kind of like a safari dinner. That might be better suited at the Rain Forest Cafe or something but oh well.

Saturday we had the Texas A&M men's basketball game! We played OU and I believe we lost... I told my family I think I have ADD when it comes to basketball. It just does not hold my attention at all. I love being at Reed and I love the atmosphere but I get so lost in everything else around me that I forget about the game. When it was over I had no idea what the score was. Bret had to inform me we didn't win - Oh well, it was still fun to me!

Bret and I ready for some TAMU basketball!

After the game we set out on a mission to find bar stools. We had people coming over Saturday night and our table only sits 4 and since our table in bar height, we had to track down more appropriate seating. We finally found some pretty basic bar stools at Target but when we got home they were a little too tall. But, we used them for the night anyways and took them back Sunday and got a refund - Cheating the system a little bit but I do not feel bad about this at all. Side Note: After Bret and I got married there were a few gifts at Target we needed to return. However, since we did not have a gift receipt for them and they were over $25 they refused to take them back. Tags still on and all. So, for that, Target got themselves used bar stools on Sunday. Hmph.

Back on track now - That night we got to go to Ninfa's for dinner which was fabulous and then we headed back to the apartment. While waiting on Diane, Craig, Jennifer and Robert to show up, me, Bret, mom and daddy decided to play Wii. We played 2 games of bowling and then mom and I boxed. She knocked me out in round 3... Bummer. (I am still sore today from playing that Saturday night!) Once all our friends made it over we set up a game of Mexican Train and played till about 2:00am. It was a LOT of fun! I ended up winning, not sure how because I never really try, so that was pretty cool!
Let Mexican Train begin!
Bret and Momma!
Don't let her innocent smile fool you, I believe she told Bret "I hate your guts" on more than one occasion that night. Oh yes, and she called him Craig too :)

Look who I caught trying to look at his wife's dominoes! Cheater, Cheater.

Diane and Craig just happy to be around!

Me and Daddy - Goofing off as usual!

Me trying to keep mom out of trouble!

Me with the girls!
No worries that is not Jennifer's beer - Drinking and babies are not allowed at my house!

Sunday Bret and I took mom and daddy to Freebirds for the first time. I have been in College Station since 2003 and I have never once taken them to Freebirds. I guess I just always assumed they wouldn't like it but they seemed to really enjoy it. My mother especially - She went on and on, so that is a good sign! After that, my parents headed back to Longview and Bret and I headed off to Circuit City.

Circuit City was a mad house! There were so many people in there - which, I can understand since they were dropping prices on everything but you would have thought we were in HEB! I was having to duck out of the way and I had my hands on one product barely paying attention to what I was touching and I had this couple standing behind me staring at me until I moved out of the way. Then, they snatched it right up! Some people are intense! Anyways, Bret and I walked out of the with GUITAR HERO!!... and a war game for Bret with some kind of cool laser gun thing. But most importantly, GUITAR HERO! That's right, I am a complete Guitar Hero fan and I do not care who knows!

Best Game EVER!

I think my husband needs to work on his Rock-n-Roll form but I am confident he will get it down!

So - I must say, it was an awesome weekend! Now... if only it were Friday again already!
