Mine and Bret's Christmas started with the three hour drive from College Station to Springtown Monday night after work - As much as I loath riding in the car, I am really loving all these trips we keep taking because we listen to books on tape! It surprises me every time how fast our trips fly by! We are currently listening to "Eclipse" by Stephenie Meyer (The Twilight Saga). It is very easy listening and we were in Springtown in no time at all! We spent our time there hanging out with family, playing games, meeting old friends for lunch, cooking, opening gifts from Santa, eating Sheri's excellent Christmas dinner and having a great time! I really enjoyed this trip to Springtown because I got to spend more time with Mallory this go around. We are all usually so busy running around that it was a lot of fun to get to hang out, shop and play games with her - She's pretty cool ;)
Friday morning, December 26th, Bret and I loaded up and headed to Longview. We got there around 11:00am and were quickly followed by my brothers and their families. We had the "Camp Christmas Eve Party" Friday night and enjoyed a second Santa visit Saturday morning. My family and I played games, watched movies and chowed down on Daddy's yummy Sunday morning breakfast!
Just like that - Christmas was over and back to the real world of work! Blah. Overall though, I would say Bret and I had a great Christmas. Very are both very blessed to have been able to spend time with both of our families. I am enjoying learning about the traditions that the Mathis family has and I love bringing Bret into all the traditions and silly quirks that the Camp family has. It really is fascinating to see how our lives are molding together into one - I am loving every minute I get to spend with this wonderfully great husband of mine!
