Painting Makes my Heart Smile

Bret and I, along with our friends, Jennifer and Robert, ventured over to U Paint It this week and painted some decorations for Christmas! October we had a pumpkin carving party so, for this holiday, we decided to paint! It was actually pretty cool because while we were painting it was still snowing outside! What a way to get in the Christmas spirit! Bret and I went to U Paint it last year at Christmas time to paint some things and I completely forgot how time consuming the whole process was! You think something is going to take a good hour and then low and behold you are there from 5:30 - 9:00pm. My goodness! Bret, for the second year in a row, has completely blown me away with his steady hand. It is amazing to watch him paint these figurines because he can get the little details for each one so precise. He really is very good at the whole thing. Me, on the other hand, I get impatient and just start painting away - Imagine that! Bret painted snowmen salt and pepper shakers this year while I did a Christmas mug. Jennifer did an excellent job with a Christmas Tree candle holder and Robert painted a Santa candy dish! All-in-all, it was a good time and I enjoyed having fun with my friends!

I had started with Red, he was painting White

Group fun for everyone!
Our finished products!!

Now the nice people at U Paint It will take our pieces, fire them up and when we get them back they will be ready to use! The colors right now look pretty dull but the fire process will make them much brighter! I am pretty happy with the way they all look - We had fun!

We had tons of fun too! Can't wait to see what they will have for us to paint next year.
