I had started reading the book and then low and behold the author was on the Today show! (FYI - the Today show is my guilty pleasure) The book and the research behind the 8 hour diet is actually pretty fascinating and since I still have some baby weight to lose I thought sure, why not, I will try this one! In a very simple and shortened explanation, you limit your eating time frame to 8 hours (9am - 5pm or 11am - 7pm for example). Whatever 8 hours fits your lifestyle. The research from the book shows restricting the time period during which you eat makes your body burn more calories throughout the day. The book claims we can lose ten pounds in a week and up to 20lbs in six weeks. Grant it I am sure those are some larger people but again, seems worth a try! You don't have to follow the 8 hour diet every day of the week. Apparently if you follow it at least 3 days a week you will still see the results. So yes, this is my new adventure... should be interesting to see if it really works!
