getting out of my running funk.

Ever since my marathon in December my body has been on a running hiatus.  I have literally had no desire to get up and go run. I told myself after I finished that I was going to make myself run and not train for anything for a while.  For my runners out there, you know how hard that is to do! You get in this routine of running, training, watching water intake, marking progress and everything else on a religious basis... to stop it all it a little crazy. BUT, after the marathon I am telling you, the idea of running just did not interest me at all.

my marathon day consisted of:
43 degree weather
winds at 15 mph making it feel like the temp was in the 30s
rain. lots and lots of rain.
so in other words, horribly cold experience!!

However, I am happy to announce that my desire to run is coming back!!
With Bret being out of town I have been getting up early in the morning, letting the pups out in the back yard and then going for a run!
I am not going that far - Not even 3 miles.
(not that i can't - just not ready to push myself yet)
but i figure some miles are better then no miles!!

with that being said - here are some pictures from my big day back in december when I completed my first FULL MARATHON.
Moving forward I will stick with my beloved half marathons - I am only half crazy
