i obviously suck at consistency. fact.

Hello there blogging world! How's tricks? Just a few things have happened since I last blogged but nothing important. HA! Who am I kidding?! They are all important! Here is the basic run-down:

Bret and I are parents!

We got our first puppy, June Piper, on June first and she is a little pistol of fluff! She is a Schnoodle and we spoil her rotten and love her to death!

She will be 5 months old at the end of August and I am ready for her to stop growing!

I GOT A NEW JOB!

Since 2008 I feel like I have been looking for a new job with no luck. HR jobs in a small town are not easy to come by especially when organizations are not hiring! But, at the end of June I was blessed with an amazing HR Generalist position with an amazing non-profit. It has been a huge blessing and I feel that I am using my master's that I worked so hard to obtain. Yay for a new job!

I'VE GONE DECORATING CRAZY!

It all started last weekend when I decided I was going to paint... I painted one of the walls in our kitchen yellow and I painted the doors on an old desk of ours. That was easy-peasy stuff.  This weekend however I am going to TOWN! I have been racking up different odds and ends from our Hospice Brazos Valley thrift store and yesterday went and bought several colors of spray paint.  I plan to paint our guest bed white (it's black rod iron at the moment), I plan to redo an antique chair green and put some pretty fabric over the ugly cushion, I plan to paint a book shelf bright yellow, a mirror red, and our current bar stools red with yellow "M"'s monogrammed on the top. Yay! I have plans to make new curtains in our kitchen as well but I think it will have to wait till another weekend.

Also in the works is a new bed for one of our other guest bedrooms and Bret is going to build us a deck! Our goal is to have all our house renovations completed by Thanksgiving because this year my family is coming to College Station for the TAMU vs UT game! If I am hosting Thanksgiving I want my house to be perfect!!

I JOINED A GYM!

For those of you who have followed my blog for sometime now, I hope you have learned that I enjoy working out. I am training for my first full marathon (time to upgrade from half marathons - eik) that is to take place in December BUT, in case yall missed it, Texas is in the middle of a horrible heat wave and even worse drought. So running outside, even in the mornings, has become impossible! Soooo, I broke down and joined a gym last Friday. I am LOVING going there right after work and running on the treadmill. Thank GOODNESS for the a/c and treadmills! Last night I branched out and tried Zumba for the first time with my girlfriend Marcela and it was FUN! I felt like a complete goober trying to move my hips in ways God did not intend for them to move but I survived!

WE ARE SURVIVING WEDDING SEASON!

Bret and I have a LOT of weddings to go to this year and so far we are surviving.  We have made it through our first three with one more coming up next weekend.  Then we get to rest till November and December. Lots of wedding cake this year... hence the gym.

Hmmm... that's really all I can think of at the moment.  Not quite as much as I thought it was going to be.  Haha, always fun to find out my life in my head is a lot more thrilling then my life on paper! I know I keep going on hiatus in regards to my blog, and I know I say I will change, but I keep messing up! Hopefully I can become a little more consistent moving forward.  I will take pictures this weekend of my home projects and share them with you guys next week!
