It's me! I'm here!

Guess what?! Minus having to print all the documents to put in my last consulting project that is due tomorrow, I am done with school for the semester! Yippee!  I will say that A) Grad school is SO much easier than undergrad but B) Dang you pay a LOT more attention to detail in Grad school.  Good news, my group and I got 30/30 on our consulting project we had due this weekend.  I was 100% shocked with our perfect score (although I know we earned it) but I was 100% satisfied (duh). That prof is actually my chair (advisor) and she is not the easiest grader for sure so I definitely wanted to bust my butt in there so I would get a good grade.  Now I am waiting for her to grade my scholarly paper that was due yesterday - I am shooting for an "A" and as of now I have one sooo... Keep your fingers crossed for me!  Or not, either way, I am crossing mine!

So I have been gone so long from the blogging world that they have added spell check! THANK.THE.LORD.  If you guys go back and read any of my older posts, I cannot spell to save my life! The sad news? My BS is in English, lol.  So much for THAT working out for me!

But yes, so now I am back, I have a lot of reading to catch up on and a lot of things to tell you guys but first, I will start by doing this weeks Wishful Wednesday because I have been neglecting poor Mizz Kelsey and I am not a fan of that one bit!

'I wish' .... I was fluent in another language in addition to English, and it would be Mandarin Chinese!

I can credit this to Grad school.  Not going to lie, before I started grad school I did not know much about the Asian culture.  Sadly enough, the only real experience I had was one of my ex-boyfriends cheated on me with a girl from Taiwan. So, needless to say, kind of had a bad taste in my mouth ever since.  Horrible I know.  I am truly ashamed.

Anyways, I am now fortunate and consider myself blessed to have a very diverse group of people around me in my grad classes and I am completely in love with all of their cultures and the different languages I get to hear and see.  This being said, I would love to be able to speak Mandarin Chinese.  I never in my life thought I would say that but listening to the language is so fascinating to me - I want to be able to talk too!!

.... Side Note:  In this lifetime of mine I have taken 4 1/2 years of Spanish and can barely remember a lick of it...

So now back to what has been going on in this chica's life!  It's been so long I cannot even remember what I have told you guys, what I haven't and if I even really have something to say at all, Ha!  Maybe I can make some bullet points...
  • At the end of April I got to go to Houston to judge drill team tryouts.  That was a lot of fun!  I was on Drill Team in high school and just seeing all those girls and watching all their emotions just brought back so, so, SO many memories.  It was a lot of fun!
  • Speaking of Drill Team... Next week I will be going BACK to Houston to judge the officer tryouts.  This is where I know I will get tough on them.  Watch out girlie's - Katie is coming to judge!
  • Bret and I close on our house May 21st! I am so, so, SO excited!!  It's going to be a hectic month but it will be fun too so YEAH!!
  • Mine and Bret's sister-in-law has come up with a name for her baby girl: Carli.  I think that is a very cute name! I am helping to throw a baby shower for her in July so I have been getting some things together for that here and there :)
  • I ordered a book on how to train for a MARATHON.  Sheesh.  I am crazy.  BUT, I am excited to see what it says because hey, I just might be able to pull it off! You never know... or i might just be insane. either way.
Sadly, I don't know what else to say therefore you can have my life in pictures...

Well, never mind to that one.  I went to show my life in pictures and realized, I DON'T HAVE ANY! My bad.. I need to get working on that one for sure.

Happy Cinco de Mayo everyone!
Tonight we have a few friends coming over to hang out and have a few drinks.
Nothing big, but fun!

Okie dokie - Sadly that is about all I have for now.  Lame, I know.  But I am back so I will be around!! (knock on wood that is!)

Missed your perky posts! Congrats on the house! Also? I read The Non-Runner's Marathon Guide for Women, Get Off Your Butt And On With Your Training, and it was great. Mostly a humorous account of one woman's marathon training. I feel as though you would enjoy that one as well.
