Yeah! Wishful Wednesday is back!
...it is Wednesday, right?...
'I wish' .... I could relive one particular holiday experience over and over again, and it would be _____!
Let me see... I have always loved this time of the year. Thanksgiving + Christmas + New Years. All three rolled up into two months always makes for a great end to the year!
Thinking back over the holidays there are a few experiences I wouldn't mind reliving.
one.
Going to my Memaw's house on Christmas morning.
two.
Following a scavenger hunt through our house to find a new bike waiting for me in the garage from Santa.
three.
Mom putting my hair in sponge rollers on Christmas Eve so my hair would be curly in the morning.
side note: I hated this. HATED. I lived in sponge rollers as a child and I HATED them. But, looking back, I was darn cute. I was going to get mom to sponge roll my hair this Christmas Eve however, she has thrown them away. Bummer. Would have made for some crazy pictures!
four.
Just the joy you experience as a child on Christmas morning. Santa has eaten your cookies. Toys galore are waiting for you under the tree. Your stocking is stuffed! So fun and so magical!!

Gosh yes on #4! I miss that childlike excitement Christmas morning!
I love Christmas morning! I really like the scavenger hunt idea... I might need to remember that!
Hope you have a great day!
I used to call my grandmother "memaw" too!!
I didn't do it this week because my main wish would have been to have another holiday season with my grandparents - how Debbie Downer, huh?
Christmas is so fun as a kid. I remember being so excited on Christmas Eve that I couldn't fall asleep, and thinking I heard reindeer footsteps on the roof! Haha!
I would wish to see the sparkle in your eyes, the joy on your face and the squeel in your voice on Christmas morning. Christmas is for children, they say, but it's really for making memories that can be re-visited for a lifetime. I hope this Christmas brings you more wonderful memories, even without the sponge rollers!
Love you,
Dad
The sponge rollers made me laugh bc my mom did that EVERY night before picture day at school!!!
That sounds awesome. I loved reading about it all. Those sponge rollers are such a memory. They never worked in my hair. It looked fine for about 30 minutes...then kaput. Perhaps my Mom had not discovered Aqua Net yet.
