friday was a productive day at work. By at work I mean doing my school work, at. work. Got some much needed stuff complete so that made me happy. Friday morning before lunch Miz Jenny and baby Mads came to visit! That was a lot of fun! I haven't seen Maddie in an extremely long time and I cannot believe how big she has gotten so quickly - Precious baby girl!

That evening B and I met up with some of our friends for happy hour at the Tap. That was a very relaxing break from my fast pace week. It was nice to sit down and relax - I was still in need of a shake off from my cookie disaster! (ugh) After Bret and I had our fill we headed to Chick-fil-A for dinner. I love chick-fil-a. LOVE. While we were finishing up our meal I got a text from Mr. and Mrs. Craig Summers that they were in town and coming by to visit! YEAH! While Diane and I visitied/gossiped/talk about how much we miss each other, this is what our men were up to:

Boy and their toys, I swear. They are playing air hockey on their phones at the moment. Craig recently got his new IPhone so the weekend was full of him learning all the aps B and I have and trying to come up with which ones he liked the most. silly, silly. After dinner the four of us headed to get some ice cream at Maggie Moo's! Chick-fil-A AND ice cream.... what more could a girl need in life?!

Saturday: If you read my two ramblings from Saturday morning you will know this next part already. BUT, to refresh your memory, I woke up about 3:00am Saturday morning and could NOT go back to sleep. It was awful. From about 3:12am - 4:00am I stayed in bed trying to fall asleep. No hope. From about 4:00am - 5:30am I was on the couch watching TV, playing games on my phone and listening to npr. Still no hope. From 5:30am - 5:50am I was back in bed still trying to get some rest and then finally at 5:50am I said forget it and went to the gym for 2 hours. I got a good 5 mile run in so whatever. HA!
After that fun adventure we got ready to meet our friends at La Bodgea for yummy brunch before tailgate. One of my college buddies, Kara, was in town so she met us for brunch as well. That's always my favorite part of football season... Everyone comes back into town and gets to hang out! After brunch tailgate began! WOO HOO! We were out there from probably about 1:00ish to 5:30ish and then headed to the game. Diane and Craig had some extra tickets so we were able to sit with them. YEAH!

I had a super duper yummy hamburger for dinner at the game (I cannot believe for once in my life I didn't get an aggie dog!) which I ended up paying for later but, we will get to that... After the game Bret and I headed back to tailgate for maybe an hour and then it was time for bed. I was so exhausted from my early morning wakeup.
Sunday: So again, about 3:00am I woke up suddenly, hauled butt to the bathroom and proceeded to throw up my "super duper yummy hamburger" for the next 10 minutes. This lovely experience repeated itself about an hour later. Note to self: Go back to the aggie dog obsession. And... I know what you guys are thinking. No, I was not drunk, NO, I was not hung over. My tailgate wasn't too crazy :) Moving on... Once we were up Bret and I watched He's Just Not That Into You. We had gotten it in the mail and thought we would give it a shot. Eh. It was cute I suppose but I don't believe I would go out and buy the movie... or the book for that matter. I do adore Justin Long though so he made it super fun.
Bret left for Springtown to go do his Fantasy Football draft a little before noon so I hung out until Diane and Craig came over. The three of us met Kara and her man Kody for lunch at wings-n-more. YUM. And then me, Diane and Craig proceeded to go SHOPPING! WOO HOO! We hit up tent sales, Barnes & Nobles, Best Buy, Target and Goodwill. I am trying to get things together for my Halloween costume hence the Goodwill. But I did have two wonderful finds while I was there - A cute yellow skirt from Gap and a broach that says "LOVE." It's too cute!
For Halloween this year I am being a Housewife. Cute little office looking dress, apron around the waste, glasses, lots of pearls, high heals and a martini glass. I should be able to pull it off (or so I hope). But I didn't have an apron so at Goodwill I found a bed shirt with this horrible flower pattern that looks straight out of the 60's, got it home, and with some cutting and sewing (yes, I sewed) Diane and I made me an apron! Yes sir! Now to get the rest of the stuff...
Since we were all off on Monday Diane and Craig spent the night with me - Super sweet of them! Sunday night we went to Olive Garden for dinner (can I get a "What, What!" for Soup, Salad and Breadsticks?!). It was amazing as always and then we split their new Pumpkin Cheesecake. To.Die.For. It definitely gave Cheesecake Factory a run for their money! No lie.

Monday was a relaxing, no fuss holiday for me. I woke up early and started watching the Today Show in bed, Diane heard me up so she came in pilled in bed with me so we then started watching Sex and the City. Craig finally got up and he came in and pilled into bed as well. Good little Monday morning bed pile up! Once we were to the point of starvation and Craig decided he didn't want any of our cereal we headed to Shipley's! YIPPEE! Who doesn't just love Shipley's?! I swear, I could eat chocolate donuts every day if they could come up with a way for me not to gain wait (minus belima please). We spent the morning watching episodes of Bones and relaxing. I got the kiddos up and into the gym with me about 11:30am and then they headed back to San Antonio around 1:00pm.... Sad me.
The rest of my day off from work was spent working on school work! With a quiet house I was able to get a lot done so that was pretty nice. I did head down to the pool to visit with some friends for about 30 minutes and then took a break to do my new workout video I bought at Target. Once again, Jillian Michaels has found a new way to kick my butt. This new video I bought was a Fat Busting, Boost Your Metabolism something or another and my.gosh. It's 40 minutes long and has 6 different circuits. Several of the moves are ones from the Shred DVD but majority are not. It was an intense workout and I am still sore today (which I LOVE).
Bret got home about 5:30pm, we had some dinner and then watched another movie we got in the mail, 17 Again. Stupid. Cute, but stupid. I would not watch that again at all. However, that Zach kid is a little hottie! But, even with that being said... No thank you movie. Thanks for trying.
With that... the end of our long weekend had come. Boo.
I was super excited to wake up yesterday morning and to not realize it was TUESDAY until I was already at work! What an amazing feeling. Almost like I completely missed a day, but not. I don't think that makes sense but I know what I mean... I spent yesterday watching the phones at work for Traci who is on vacation and I LOVED IT! I got two papers written and turned in for school so that was amazing. I also made an important decision yesterday - I registered to run a 1/2 Marathon in December. That's right. ; I will be participating in Run the Rock in Dallas on December 13th. Eik! A little freaked out but I have my training schedule printed out and on my fridge and I started training yesterday. Should be interesting considering I have never ran over 5 miles... and I've only done that once, this past Sleepless Saturday. But I do have several other runs coming up that I think will help prepare me. A 5k in October and then a 10k in Novemeber.... If anything, it's a good goal :)
One last thing before Wishful Wednesday begins... If you have stuck with this post so far I am sorry, I know it's extremely lengthy and probably boring :-/ But, I do want to share the newest recipe that was sent to me by Jillian. It's a dessert for the quickly approaching cooler weather and it sounds absolutely fantastic!!

Preheat oven to 350°F.
Slice apple in half.
Use a spoon or small ice cream scoop to scoop out some apple flesh from each half, making room for the filling.
(You can eat the apple flesh if you like — no need to reserve.)
Dab 1 teaspoon cream cheese in the cavity of each half.
Toss the diced pear with brown sugar and cinnamon.
Toss the diced pear with brown sugar and cinnamon.
Spoon pear filling into each apple half.
Sprinkle pear filling with almonds, pressing down to make them adhere.
Place apple halves in a baking dish and add water or apple juice to the dish.
Cover and bake for 30 minutes, then baste with juices.
Bake uncovered for another 10 minutes, or until almonds are roasted.
Makes 2 servings.
Yumm - I want to run home and make that right now! Sounds so super fantastic to me!
Now, without further waiting...
'I wish' .... I could come home to ____ house everyday!
(attach a picture and tell us why)
This one is pretty simple for me. I wish I could come home to A house everyday. Bret and I are living in our apartment still (which I love by the way) but we are saving up for our first house together at the moment. We hope to move in when our lease ends in August 2010. I know when we find a house we will be super excited to move in, decorate (me at least) and then of course, come home to it every single day. I don't have a picture of what I would like my dream house to be because my opinions change all the time. I generally like older model homes, the neat kind you don't see anymore. Hardwood floors, lots of windows for a lot of sunlight to come in, big trees in the yard and plenty of closet space! When we find the right house for us I know it will completely amazing.
Happy Hump Day everyone! Enjoy the rest of this 4 day week! Friday is just around the corner!
