Yeah for lazy weekends! To talk about my two movies. 1) Julie & Julia: I did think this was a super cute movie and I laughed a LOT. Funny movie but even funnier of an experience. So, we walk into the theater on Saturday to see several MAJOR holes in the ceiling, rows blocked off underneath them and then seats covered in trash bags to keep the water from hitting the actual seat. On, and on top of that, large trash barrels to catch water. So, during the movie, since it was raining all day Saturday, rain started dripping into the buckets and hitting the trash bag covered seats. To me, this was HILARIOUS. I kept thinking seriously?! why did you just not close this theater?! It was priceless. But, back to the movie, it was funny, I didn't care too much for the ending resulting in me probably not finishing the book. I have been trying to read it since Vegas and loved it at first but now I just cannot get into the writing. So, now I have seen the movie and don't care to finish. 2) Defiance: This is the movie set during WWII with Daniel Craig. He is a Jew and him and his brothers have escaped to the woods to avoid being caught by the Nazi's. While in the woods they build their own community and it was really, REALLY good. I have heard people have not been able to get into this movie but I thought it was fantastic!
Now I would like to tell you all a story - This is the story of Katie and the Gym. I have uploaded a masterpiece of artwork of the gym so you are aware of the setting:
So, the most hilariously funny thing happened in the gym this morning - I swear, I almost had to break up a cat fight. Or just sit a laugh, haven't decided yet what I would have done. I will begin this story with some background details. Our gym has two tv's that hang high in the corners. The treadmills face one, the ellipticals and bike face the other. Common courtesy, if two different shows are on, keep the volume at a reasonable level, yes? Well there is this girl, I call her "Country Girl" because she always turns the TV to CMT (country music television) and then proceeds to turn the volume up to an insane level. INSANE. To the point that when I am running I have to turn my IPod volume up all.the.way and I still an unable to hear the book I am listening to. Rude, yes? Now you have the background...This morning I walk into the gym to get on the elliptical (please refer to drawing). When I get into the gym "MTV girl" (again, see drawing) is already on the other elliptical with MTV playing on the TV. The volume was appropriate, she asked if it was fine, I said yes of course and then went about my business working out, listening to my IPOD and being happy that I could hear my book. Well, low and behold "Country Girl" comes in and is getting on the treadmill that faces the other TV (see drawing). But first, she comes and asks "MTV girl" for the remote so she can turn her TV on - This is common since one remote works both TVs. Well, home "Country girl" turns her TV on to CMT, duh, and THEN turns the volume up so loud it completely drowns out MTV and my IPod... Look, I understand treadmills are loud when you are running on them but they are not THAT LOUD. I have even checked her for a hearing aid before and nadda so I know she can hear just fine. As usual, I just mind my own business while shaking my head and thinking "how.rude" - This is said in the Stephanie Tanner voice. "MTV girl" finishes her workout and heads to the weight bench (see drawing). The weight bench faces the mirrored wall so you can still see (and suppose to be able to still hear) the TV that she had been watching. I finish my workout and head to do my crunches on my little mat. WELL, miz "Country Girl" turns around to face the MTV TV and she CHANGES THE CHANNEL TO CMT! What.The.Heck. I am pretty sure my mouth fell open mid sit-up and I turned to look at "MTV Girl" and man... talk about a look of rage. "MTV girl" walks over to "Country girl's" treadmill, snatches that remote from her while saying "I was watching that thank you!" and then changes her TV back to MTV and turning the volume all the way up. "Country girl" didn't say anything. She just rolled her eyes and made the classic "ugh" sound at "MTV girl." I kid you not... I thought there was going to be a fight! I did not say a word. I hurried and stretched and got the hell out of dodge! Priceless my friends. Priceless. Maybe that will teach "Country girl" some manners!
That truly made and excellent start to the day - I am 100% sure I will be thinking about that little scene all day long. Which will come in handy when I have to go to the DMV this afternoon. I renewed my drivers license online on July 1st and as of last Friday I still had not received it in the mail. I finally called them and they had sent it to the wrong address, although I did the change of address business, and the DL was sent back to them. Will they mail it to me now? NOPE. I have to go to the DMV, pay $10 and request a duplicate licenses because I "lost" my old/new one. (Or so I was told by rude phone lady). Joy. I am taking off an hour early today hoping to miss the crowd. AH. Should be interesting. Thank goodness for cat fight memories!!
Hope you guys have a great Monday and a wonderful week!
