Story Time. Crazy story time.

So, I have a crazy story to share today. Bret was talking to his old roommate last night, Tyler, and Tyler mentioned that him and his wife, Kara, were having to go to court soon. Bret was a little confused and Tyler proceeded to say, "Oh man! Did I not tell you what happened to Kara?! It was crazy!"

Well, apparently back in April, Tyler and Kara met for lunch and the Kara went to go tan. Well when Kara walked in a man followed in behind her and when she was assigned her tanning room he went into the room next to her, stood up on a chair and proceeded to video tape her undressing. The walls were apparently light blue so he had a light blue camera so people wouldn't see him. Well, Kara did see him and started screaming "This guy is taping me!" She got her clothes on, ran out of the room and the whole time the perv left the video tape on. The girl from the front ran back there and told him she was calling the cops. The video guy then tried to make a deal with Kara and the tanning lady saying "Let's just forget this happened, I will give you whatever you want. I just need to go outside to make a phone call." Luckily Kara and the tanning girl were not stupid enough to agree to this. Well, the tanning salon happened to be in a shopping center and a few businesses down was a dry cleaning place. Luckily, there were two cops there dropping off some dry cleaning so they heard the call come in and were able to just walk a few doors down about the same time the video guy was trying to get away. He was already to his car by that point and had put the video camera, still running, in the trunk of the car. When the cops got there Kara and the tanning girl told them what happened, the cops searched the car, found the video, played back the entire thing and arrested him.

Once the guy got to jail he used his one phone call to call his wife to tell him he was going out of town for work instead of telling her he was in jail. Well, turns out the video guy owns his own business and the truck he drives has his name and everything on the side. Well, when he went to record Kara he had parked his truck a few doors down and the lady who owned that shop saw him get arrested. When his truck was still in front of her shop the next day she called his house and asked when her husband was going to get out of jail and move his truck... busted.

Now, the truly awful part of the story... This man who was video taping Kara was supposedly a good man in their community. Married, had young daughters, had been a youth minister, owned his own business, etc. When the cop went back and reviewed his videos they found that he had taped minors as well which turned this case into a federal crime. So now people are worried if he ever recorded his daughters friends when they had sleepovers or if anything happened within the church...

Crazy and awful. Thank goodness Kara saw him and was able to bring all of this out. So now, she will be going to court to testify about what happened. You always hear about these things but it is crazy when you know the people!
