My weekend, as always, went by in a flash but it was a lot of fun. I feel as though my weekend actually began Thursday night. After Bret and I ran some errands we met up with some friends at Fox & Hound for a few drinks. One of Bret's clients was in town so we hung out with him and it was fun. While the evening was wrapping up (or so I thought) the idea of Northgate, more drinks and dancing got brought up. Bret and I protested for as long as possible but then I finally caved. I am a sucker for dancing and a good time, what can I say?! So our posse moved the party to Northgate where we met up with some other friends and had a blast! I won't shock you with the amount of drinks/shots that were consumed but it was enough for.sure. and the dancing was a blast! Bret and I helped run interference at one point which was hilarious - Gist of the story. One girlfriend of ours was interested in a guy we work with but she wouldn't have been good for him and so another girlfriend of ours (who doesn't care for girlfriend 1) decided she would like to dance with the guy friend. Seeing where this is going? Needless to say, Bret and I, along with our other friends did a good job and by the end of the night we were singing "We won!" bad. we are bad. But man was it fun + funny on SO many levels. love it. Anyways, by the time we closed down the bars and got home I believe we were sleeping around 3:00am. Wow, haven't done that in a while. College maybe?
Friday I was up bright and early at 6:30am, got dressed and we were headed off to work. Despite my relapse into my college hay-day lifestyle, I felt perfectly fine and was in a great mood. I think I was still on a high from the dancing and stealing of boys from the night before. (A moment I must sadly admit I am STILL laughing at). But Friday flew by and then it was time to head to SPRINGTOWN for my mother-in-law's birthday!! I will not divulge her age to the world but I will note that she does not look her age on bit! I am blessed with not only a very young looking Mom but a young looking Mom2 as well! We got into Springtown about 9:00pm and sat around and hung out for the night. Sheri made me some grilled cheese which was amazing and Nannie came over to talk to Bret and I about VEGAS!! Nannie, our grandmother, goes to Vegas about twice a year so she knows anything and everything there is to know so she was a LOT of help. I am getting more and more excited! I think I want to see Jubilee while we are there - I am told it is a traditional Vegas style show with the feathers, girls, kicks and all. Should be fun, eh?
Bright and early Saturday morning Rusty (my sister-in-laws man) and I got up and went and ran around the neighborhood. I didn't work out Friday so I was having to make up for my missed day - PLUS, I knew I was going to be pigging out that day! No worries girls, I left Rusty in the dirt! ;) After we were all ready to go, us girls headed over to Summer's house (my other sister-in-law) for Beauty Control facials and makeovers for Sheri's birthday. We had a really fun time and I walked away with a few new products that I am loving. I have been working since I was 21 or so to stop the signs of aging on my face. Sad, but true. But, I got to add some new things to my anti-aging collection so that was cool. Once that was over we all met up with the boys and went to lunch at Mesquite Pitt in Weatherford. I had a HUGE chicken fried chicken that was to die for and yes, I ate the ENTIRE plate and I am ok with that. A girl needs her fried chicken. It's just a must. That afternoon we all cooked and decorated the house for Sheri's Hawaii birthday party! WOO HOO! Lots of friends and family came over and it was a lot of fun! It was great to see all the people show up to support Sheri on her birthday and I really believe she had a wonderful time. The night ended with margaritas and ImaginIff game. Has anyone played this? It is super fun - Look into it.
Sunday Bret and I kind of bummed around. We went and spent the morning with Mawmaw and Granddad so that was nice to see them. They had just gotten in Saturday night from Colorado so we got to hear all about their trip, talk about our Colorado trips all over again and I found myself longing to be in Pagosa Springs. Anybody know of some jobs in Colorado? I would totally move in a heart beat! Sheri cooked steak fingers for lunch which were super yummy and then it was time for B and I to hit the road! side note: I am not going to go into the story that relates to this but what are yalls opinions on talking politics at the dinner table? I will boldly say that it is inappropriate dinner conversation especially in a mixed crowd but those are just my beliefs. What do you guys think? I am interested to see if that is just me... Sunday night B and I got to enjoy a new episode of True Blood and then I caught up on my So You Think You Can Dance. This is my first season to watch the show and I really and truly am enjoying every minute of the dances!
Bret and I went ahead and carried our weekend over through yesterday. We did work of course (if that is what you want to call what I do) but after work we had friends over for pool time! YEAH! My favorite! We all hung out by the pool until the sun was gone and then B cooked us all hamburgers. We found ourselves full in no time and happy to be in good company.
I did want to mention that I read L.A. Candy this weekend by Lauren Conrad. Super chicklit and I cannot believe I caved and read it but oh well. I was bored at work and got it on my Kindle app and read it on the drive to and from Springtown. My review - Very good! It was a fun, easy and silly read and I very much enjoyed every second. I know the book is loosely based on LC's real life so I found myself wondering which people were which. That kind of threw me off because I really couldn't figure out too much but I still enjoyed the read. If you are looking for something light that requires no thought, pick it up!

I have started the 4th Sookie Stackhouse book, "Dead to the World," on my Kindle ap and I am very excited to read about her some more! It amazes me how the show and the books really differ from each other on SO many levels. While they do have a lot of similarities, there are main characters in the show that are never mentioned in the book. Odd but, whatever. I am only on page 10 or so into the book so I don't know much but I am sure I will love it. For the girls that follow these books, is anyone really into Eric? I find that I like him more the Bill. Maybe because Bill is not as attractive to me on TV as Eric is but, who knows. Opinions? I do like knowing that the girl and guy that plays Sookie and Bill on True Blood date in real life. I find that sweet. I'm a softy- Cannot really deny it. meh.

In exciting news, exciting to me at least. This weekend is going to ROCK! Hence why my entry is titled "Is it Saturday yet?" AHH! Friday night we will either be at the pool because our apartment complex is having a Luau or we will be heading to our new Friday hangout, Rockwells, for some good times outside. Saturday, my friend Kristen and I are planning an all day pool-day! YEAH! We want to get out there about 1:00pm and spend until whenever out there. We have several friends coming, fajitas will be made and it is going to be 100% chill and fun. If anyone makes their way to College Station this weekend, stop on by! Saturday night I have decided I am getting a new tattoo. (Sorry Mom and Dad - If you read this, this is me telling you!) I have been going over and over what I want and I think I have finally decided on a dove in white on my side. When I say "side" I mean up high by my ribs about where my bra wraps around. This way my bathing suits and stuff for the most part can cover it but then again, it will be in white so it will only look like a scar. I am super excited! YEAH!!
This is the actual tattoo I am looking into getting - Like I said, the dove will be white but I believe I will leave the heart in color. It's so small I think it will look sweet.

This is what an actual white tattoo looks like, in case you were wondering!

So... That's what is going on in my life right about now. I enjoyed reading every one's posts from this weekend yesterday and today. Sounds like everyone is having fun with their Summer so that is great!

very cool tattoo idea!
I love tattoos ;) I have two. I think a dove would be great!
Also I just LOVE the Sookie Stackhouse series. I took a break from those and am almost done with the 4th book. I picked it back up yesterday and can't put it down.
And I LOVE that Bill and Sookie are together in real life. I am a softy as well ;)
