take me down to the river

This past weekend Bret and I were lucky enough to get to spend time with some very dear friends of ours. Those are the best kinds of weekends!

friday after work we went to Target to buy some last minute needs for the river, grabbed some Chick-fil-a for dinner and then relaxed for the night.

saturday, bright and early, I got up and went an ran for a few miles then got ready to hit the road! We drove to New Braunfels and met our friends, Steven and Magan at Jack in the Box for a fast lunch and then we were off to float the Comal river! We met up with Steven's cousin and his fiance, stood in an hour long line and then dove in! It was a great float, no injuries (minus my spider bite) and none of us got burned! YEAH! All my pictures are on a water proof camera that I took with me so as soon as I get those developed I will share some of the fun moments. After the river we all went to chow down at the Gristmill in Greune. I am not ashamed to say I ate an entire spinach salad, chicken fried chicken and mashed potatoes all by myself. That's right. Back off people! Afterwards we were all exhausted so we headed back to San Antonio for the night.

sunday Bret, myself, Steven and Magan went to Barnes & Nobles for a bit (where I bought the 2nd Sookie book!) and then headed to lunch at Salalito's Mexican Cantina. I do not know why I wanted more food after my hunk of a meal but I did. Who can resist Mexican food?! Bret and I then sadly said goodbye and headed to see our friends Diane and Craig. YEAH! It was great to sit down with them for a few hours and hang out. I do not get to see Diane enough and I miss her daily! It was then time for Bret and I to hit the road back to College Station. We got home, ate a snack/dinner, watched the new True Blood and then I was in bed by 9:00pm. Talk about old lady night!

today, Monday, has been a good day. I got up like a good girl and went and ran, got to work, got to order my new iphone and Diane called to tell me she is a first time aunt! Yeah! Her brother and sister-in-law had their first baby boy today, Michael Dean DePalermo! So very exciting!
