I love weekends where there are no set plans! Well, I say that until I have one too many in a row and then I get stir crazy. But, this past weekend was a nice break for Bret and I and we both really enjoyed the time together doing nothing in particular!
Friday night I went and ran two miles at the gym, got home, threw on some clothes real fast in all my nastiness and headed up to the Tap with Bret to meet some friends for dinner. After that we headed into downtown Bryan to Murphy's Law to celebrate our friends last night working there. It was a lot of fun as usual but Bret and I didn't get in till pretty late so I was exhausted! The whole waking up at 6:00am everyday had definitely caught up to me by the time Friday rolled around. Total, I worked out seven times last week - go me!
Saturday we slept in till about 10:30am (wow!) and then I hurried off to get my hair cut and highlighted at 11:00am! I always love the feeling of getting my hair cut - feels so healthy! My poor hair dresser though, I was so tired I was practically falling asleep in the chair! On the way home I picked up some Chick-fil-a for me and Bret for lunch (yum!) then headed to the house to be lazy for a bit. I watched Sweeny Todd on demand since I had not seen it yet. Depressing. But good. Bret and I then headed off to Best Buy where we bought a Wii Fit (yeah!) and then to Target to buy lots and lots of cards. Between Graduation, Mother's Day, Birthday's, I believe we are set on cards! We rushed home and played Wii Fit for about an hour and a half or so then headed off to Boston's for dinner. I really enjoy eating at Boston's. We do not go there often but to me they are like a Chili's - they have a million different things to choose from! That night we watched Yes Man and I thought it was very cute. I completely adore Jim Carey so anything he is in I think will automatically be great!
Sunday we slept in till about 9:30am (again, wow!) and then headed off to the grocery store. I love grocery shopping but I hate HEB and since that is where Bret likes to go we go when there is nobody else there. Like Sunday mornings. While I know that means Bret and I are not in church on those mornings when we have to get food, I say my prayers and have church of my own and ask God to understand that if I go to HEB on Sunday afternoons with the rest of the world, it might result in unfavorable actions + language. After grocery shopping I was able to make myself a tuna fish sandwich (judge all you want, I love tuna fish) and then Bret and I hurried off to see X-Men Origins which was super good! Bret and I both really enjoyed this movie and I am sure there are others out there that will share in my feelings that Taylor Kitsch who makes an appearance is a h-o-t-t-y. Bret had to tell me to calm down several times! If you do not know who that is, look him up or watch Friday Night Lights. Another show that we LOVE but he plays Tim Riggins on there. Again, hotty. I have a thing for bad guys with long hair. I cannot help it. It is a weakness and I am not afraid to say that at all! After the movie we watched the Mavericks lose to the Chicken Nuggets (my name for them. You cannot be just a "nugget." Are you gold, chicken? Decide! I decided for them) boo, I "baked" cookies, see previous entry, and then played Wii Fit for about an hour or so again. We are really enjoying learning everything. I rock just FYI. We watched W before bed which I ended up sneaking off to the bedroom before it was over as I believe Bret did as well. THEN, I put it in the mail today to send back to Blockbuster so that should tell you how Earth shattering we thought that was. But, sleep brought an end to a great weekend with my man!
Today I got up at 6:00am to go run my mile at the gym - go me! Bret got up early as well to pack because he is leaving for Ft. Lauderdale, Florida this afternoon for work. Boo. But, he will be back tomorrow night so that is only one night he will be away. Better than the usual week when he has to travel. Now, I am at work. I have made plans to lay out and work out this evening so should be fun!
I hope everyone had a great weekend and your Monday is starting out just as well!
