The celebration is quickly approaching!
This week I have been busy making sure I have everything in order for our anniversary weekend coming up. This Saturday, April 11th will mark our 1st anniversary (the day we went to the JP) and then the 14th, the day we actually celebrate, will mark our 1st Wedding Anniversary! I am so super excited and I cannot wait! For our anniversary Bret and I have decided to get up early on Saturday and drive to Fredericksburg. Neither one of us have been but we have heard it is a cute town with lots of shops down Main Street to go through and plenty of historical sites - all things we love! Our plan is to get there, probably eat lunch and then head over to Luckenbach. They are going to have a band playing at 1:00pm and we thought would be fun to hear and then of course we will go through the general store and do all the tourist things you can do in Luckenbach. After that we want to head back to Fredericksburg to start looking through all the antique shops. I love going through those kind of stores (thanks to my parents up bringing no doubt) because you never know what you are going to find! The first time Bret and I went to Colorado together we found a perfect little lamp that I am still in love with! That night I am sure we will go out to dinner. We were looking into a place called Hondo's where again, there will be live music. We might opt for something more romantic though. I heard there is a really good Italian restaurant and we both love Italian food so that could be an option as well. Sunday, Easter, we plan on going to the National Museum of the Pacific War - Thank goodness it will be open! I was afraid with it being Easter weekend we were going to miss out on doing anything! I don't know what else we will do on Sunday but I sure am getting excited to spend some time with my husband, away from College Station, alone! Then for our actual anniversary, Tuesday, April 14th, I have a COOKIE CAKE ordered for us! Since we were married in Mexico and the hotel did our cake, we didn't bring one home with us (it was nasty anyways) and I didn't want to pay $50 to have a fancy one made here so I decided to do the next best thing - COOKIE CAKE! I love cookie cakes :) And so do my thighs... So, Tuesday night Bret and I will chow down on some cookie cake, drink champagne from would wedding toasting flutes and watch our wedding DVD. We haven't discussed dinner yet for that night, I think we are both too excited about the COOKIE CAKE! All-in-all though, it sounds like a perfect anniversary to me!
